Ingredients for Urad Vada


  • 1 Cup Urad Dal (4-5 hours soaked)
  • 1 Cup Onion (Fine Chopped)
  • 1 inch Ginger (Grated)
  • 2-3 Green Chilli (Fine Chopped)
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Oil for fry

Preparation of Dal & Mixing


  • Take Dal grind coarsely
  • No need to add extra water while grinding
  • Mixture should be thick
  • Add Urad Dal paste in big Bowl
  • Add Onion in that
  • Add Green Chilli
  • Add Grated Ginger in that
  • Add Salt as per taste
  • Mix all the ingredients well

Making Vada & Fry


  • Add oil in heated Kadai/Pan
  • Making Vada - Grease hand with water before making vada
  • Give the shape of vada - put little water on vada's surface to make vada  smooth surface
  • Place Vada's in heated oil
  • Flip Vadas both side & fry till Golden Brown
  • All Vada's are turned golden brown
  • Take them out

Serving & Platting


  • Serve Vada with Green chutney OR Sauce
