चावल का फरा -छत्तीसगढ़ी व्यंजन


Chhattisgarh is well known as the 'Rice Bowl' of India and has a rich tradition of food culture.Most of the traditional foods are made of rice and rice flour, curd and a variety of green leafy vegetables.Some well known breakfast dishes made out of Rice & rice flour include Fara , Muthiya, Cheela, Angakar Roti.

चावल के आटे का फरा,  Usually people like to eat this dish in the morning breakfast,
This dish is eaten either with Methi, tomato or with coriander
tomato ,chilli chutney,

You can  also fry it with spices and eat it as  evening snacks .

Ingredients for Fara


2 Cup(400 gram) Rice flour 
2 Cup(400 ml) Water Dough Kneading
Salt as per taste

Steaming Process & kneading Dough


- Take 2 Cup water in Kadai/Pan
- Add Salt as per taste
- Once Water start boiling - Add Rice flour 
- Mix well
- Turn off the flame - Cover and keep this mixture 2-3 min so that it steamed well
- After 2-3 min - open the lid
- knead that mixture & make soft dough
- Dough is ready to prepare Fara - lets make Fara


Making Fara


- Take small lumps
- Roll this lumps in Palm & give the shape of Fara
- Fara is ready - Prepare another Fara in same Manner
- All Fara is ready - Let's Steam these


Steaming Fara


- Take Steamer/Idli Maker
- Add 2-3 Cup water in that 
- Once Steamer/Idli maker water warm enough - Add Fara
- Cover this for 10-15 min
- After 10-15 Min
- Fara is Steamed now 
- Once Faras get Steamed  - take them out


Serving & Platting


- Serve Farra with tamater Dhaniya(Tomato-Coriander) & Lahshun Mirch (Chilli- Garlic) Chutney

         - Take 2 Cup water in Kadai/Pan



         - Add Salt as per taste



         - Once Water start boiling - Add Rice flour 



         - Mix well



         - Turn off the flame - Cover and keep this mixture 2-3 min so that it steamed well



         - After 2-3 min - open the lid



         - knead that mixture & make soft dough



         - Dough is ready to prepare Farra - lets make Farra



         - Take small lumps

         - Farra is ready - Prepare another Farra in same Manner



         - All Farras are ready - Let's Steam these



         - Once Steamer's/Idli maker's water warm enough - Add Farras in that



         - Cover this for 10-15 min



         - After 10-15 Min



         - Farras are Steamed now - take them out



         - Serve Farra with tamater Dhaniya(Tomato-Coriander) & Lahshun Mirch (Chilli- Garlic) Chutney
